On Friday, 10th September, we officially launched The Vocal Academy with a spectacular concert in the hall. Students performed a variety of contemporary tunes accompanied by a live band and an amazing light show to an audience of over 250 people! The performers swallowed their nerves and gave engaging performances, dancing through the crowd and interacting with the audience.
In attendance was Mr. Des Mitchell and his daughter Annie, Mr. Peter Campbell from the school board and Mr. James Trimble and his family.
The Vocal Academy are so grateful for such a supportive and enthusiastic audience for their debut concert.
If you missed the launch, there are still some opportunities to see the Vocal Academy in action. Our senior students are putting on a Summer Concert Series at Rockingham Foreshore. Graduating Vocal Academy students, Abbie & Dice kicked off the concert series on Friday Week 9, performing a 90-minute set in front of the iconic Rockingham sunset. This was such an enjoyable, family-friendly event with people bringing picnic blankets and enjoying food from surrounding local cafés.
The year 10’s will wrap up the series with their performance on Friday 26th November.
