Celebrating a Milestone in Professional Football
Everyone at South Coast Baptist College is incredibly proud to congratulate former Football Academy student Roland Ballah on signing his first professional contract with Melbourne City FC. Roland has committed to a two-year deal, with the club holding an option for a further season—marking an extraordinary milestone in his footballing journey.
From the SCBC Pitch to Melbourne
Roland joined the SCBC Football Academy in Year 7 and remained an integral part of the program through to the end of Year 10. Throughout his time at the College, his natural talent, exceptional work ethic, and quiet determination were evident every single day on the training pitch.
At just 15 years of age, Roland made the courageous decision to move from Perth to Melbourne to pursue his lifelong dream of professional football. Following three years of outstanding growth and development within Melbourne City’s elite academy setup, his dedication and resilience have culminated in this well-earned professional contract.
An Inspiration to Current Students
Roland’s achievement stands as a shining example of what is possible when talent is paired with dedication, perseverance, and a willingness to step out of one’s comfort zone. He remains a powerful inspiration to our current Football Academy students, demonstrating that big dreams can indeed become reality.
