Anna Watts began her journey at SCBC in Kindergarten and graduated in 2021. She is currently pursuing a double degree — Bachelor of Physiotherapy and Bachelor of Exercise & Sport Science — at the University of Notre Dame.
Anna has already achieved several impressive milestones in her academic journey. She was awarded the Notre Dame Merit Scholarship ($20,000), based on her outstanding high school performance, and has received letters of commendation every semester of her university studies. She also received the Australian Medical Supplies Double Degree Award, recognising her as the highest-performing student in her program. In 2024, she was invited to attend the PRISM Alliance Scholarships Expo, which comprised presentations of prestigious influential scholarships such as the Rhodes Scholarship and the John Monash Scholarship.
Outside the classroom, Anna has demonstrated a strong commitment to service and leadership. She volunteered as a student leader on a school holiday camp supporting children with juvenile arthritis or hypermobility syndromes, and at a Clontarf Football Foundation carnival.
Reflecting on her time at SCBC, Anna expresses deep gratitude for the ways her school experience shaped both her personal and professional development. She credits her Christian education with introducing her to the Gospel from a young age and fostering a love for God. She fondly recalls the strong sense of community with Christ at its centre, which continues to influence her life today.
Academically, Anna acknowledges SCBC for equipping her with the tools and support to thrive. The foundation she built during her high school and ATAR years led to early university offers from three institutions, giving her the opportunity to pursue her dream career in physiotherapy.
Some of Anna’s favourite SCBC memories include:
- The Year 10 Bali Service and Adventure Trip
- Competing in the Australian Young Physicists’ Tournament in Brisbane
- Serving as Deputy Head Girl in Years 11 and 12
As Deputy Head Girl, she ran a lunchtime girls’ group for Year 7 students, supporting their transition into high school. She speaks warmly of the camps, classes, and friendships that helped shape who she is today.
Anna is on track to complete her double degree in 2026. Passionate about physiotherapy, she is particularly interested in working with children, as well as exploring opportunities in rehabilitation, hospital settings, and potentially in developing countries.
She’s excited about the future and is really enjoying where she is right now and cannot wait to see what God has around the corner.
